LOGISTICS

Lodging:  Host Hotel is Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham, Breaux Bridge, Louisiana

There are many hotels in Lafayette, LA, one within walking distance of the NWRC (WARC) – EHCFC complex on the north Campus of University of Louisiana - Lafayette; HOWEVER, there is a city-wide conference in Lafayette this week and rooms are in short supply and at commercial rate (approximately $100/night).  Because of Lafayette hotel congestion, we have made an arrangement with a new Microtel by Wyndham in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana; the Microtel is a 15-minute drive from the NWRC, and Breaux Bridge is truly deep in the heart of Acadiana.  The Microtel has established a block of rooms at the government rate.  You can make reservations directly by calling 337.332.0432.

Other Breaux Bridge Lodging Options: Just a few miles to the east of Breaux Bridge is Henderson, Louisiana – there you will find Acadian food and a Holiday Inn Express; http://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/breaux-bridge/hnrla/hoteldetail

Another very interesting and Acadian option is Pat’s, which includes not only a restaurant (Fisherman’s Wharf) and club, but a motel (Edgewater) on the Bayou – Aaah Yyee! http://patsfishermanswharf.com/hotel.html

South Louisiana is serviced by three major airports – Lafayette Regional, Baton Rouge Metropolitan, and Louis Armstrong New Orleans International.  Ticket price differences can be substantial – Atlanta to Lafayette - ~$320; to Baton Rouge - ~$260; to New Orleans - ~$220.  There should be several rental car options at each of these airports.  Note host hotel is a 15-minute drive and not within walking distance.

We are planning Monday and Tuesday options for local trips prior to the Wednesday afternoon CESU – LCC meetings and Thursday LCC meeting.  Please see the meeting announcement and agenda.

Plan for a moderate Registration Cost for meeting expenses, approximately $25.

Our on-line RSVP is being developed.
