Science Team LCD recommendation to the GCP LCC

Date: 05/28/15

The Science Team Meeting in Ardmore OK April 21 and 22 produced path forward recommending a two-pronged approach to landscape conservation design as a means to advance the GCP LCC vision of enhanced cultural and natural resource conservation. The first is a coarse filter approach looking at several of the GCP LCC broadly-defined habitats that have coverage across the LCC. The second is development of a finer filter ‘Pilot Study’ within a more restricted geography (San Antonio,  Colorado, and Guadalupe River watersheds extending from the Edwards Plateau to the Gulf of Mexico) as a demonstration of how conservation design can be used to provide guidance for conservation efforts to benefit multiple species.
