Conservation Partners connecting working lands conservation from the Gulf of Mexico to the High Plains with the vision of a sustainable landscape of natural resources resilient to the threats and stressors associated with our changing world.
Recommendation 1: Proceed with the American Oyster Project on shallow water reef mapping with Dr. George Guillen (University of Houston Clear Lake) at a cost to the GCP LCC of $40,000.
Recommendation 2: Proceed with the Guadalupe Bass project on flow ecology relationships with Dr. Tim Grabowski (Texas Tech University).
Recommendation 3: Proceed with the Mottled Duck project focused on validation of the Mottled Duck Decision Support Tool with Dr. Bart Ballard and Anastasia Krainyk (Texas A&M - Kingsville).
Recommendation 4: Proceed with the Quadrula spp. project focused on combining current information via a literature review and expert opinion to develop a conservation plan for Quadrula species within the GCP geography with Dr. Dana Infante at Michigan State University.
Recommendation 5: Proceed with the Alligator Gar project focused on recruitment dynamics using a river-stage specific floodplain inundation model with Dr. David Hoeinghaus of the University of North Texas. This project also includes Co-PIs from Texas State and TAMU.
The final recommendation on Project #6 is pending and will be decided at the June Steering Committee meeting.
