GCP Staff have been preparing the Science Team through discussion on landscape design and a plan for conservation design, including estimated level of effort. There has been some concern about the clarity and need for such a SE Conservation Adaptation Strategy (SECAS) focus; the GCP LCC has engaged with other LCCs since 2011 to support efforts as described in the January meeting notes – SECAS is the “naming convention” used for the SE LCCs to have a collective awareness of the an ecologically connected network. The protocol of any LCD effort in GCP should allow a “roll-up” into the larger conservation network.
The next GCP LCC Steering Committee face-to-face is on June 23-25 in Athens, Texas at the Freshwater Fisheries Center;

A room block has been established at the Best Western Plus-Royal Mountain Inn in Athens, Texas; not far from the Hart-Morris Conservation Center at TFFC where the meeting will take place. The Block starts on Monday night 22nd through Thursday. There is a special rate of $79.99 per night.
