LDWF seeks Biologist Program Manager

This is a highly technical biological and supervisory position, the function of which is to manage the Louisiana Natural Heritage Program which gathers, organizes and distributes standardized, detailed information on biological diversity across Louisiana and develops and maintains a database on rare, threatened and endangered species of plants and animals and natural communities for Louisiana. This position shall manage and supervise lower level Biologist staff and non-professional staff in this program. General supervision is received from a Biologist Director or higher level. Direct line supervision is exercised over lower level biologist.
The incumbent serves as a high level advisor to the Division of administrative staff, as well as to the Assistant Secretary of Wildlife with communication to Division Administrators. Incumbent also advises the Undersecretary, with communication to Division Administrators, on matters pertaining to the Division's federal funds.
The incumbent is also required to exert brief periods of heavy muscular or strenuous physical exertion, including occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and operation of boats and ATV's. Also, statewide travel and overnight stay, including early morning departure is required.
No Civil Service test score is required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
